As Will grapples with becoming a cheerleader and gains some fans amongst the student body, he finds himself being charmed by a very persistent jock. On the sidelines, Mike is forced to watch as his best friend changes before his eyes. Is it for the better? Only time will tell.

Due to the very nature of the NINA project, it was clear the process would take quite the toll on El's mental health because of its exploration into her past traumatic memories. However, no one had considered that the project could leave a lasting impact on her physical body. When El's health begins quickly deteriorating after Vecna's defeat, this becomes extremely obvious.

Max sighed softly, pulling her rainbow blanket up to her chin. She couldn’t bother to change out of her clothes. “El,” she breathed out into the air, watching as the soundwaves floated above and up to the ceiling where it would lay with other thoughts that she could only explore in the silence of the night. Just imagines of her and her future whoever, girl or boy or someone else, she had no idea. All she knew was that she couldn’t stop thinking of what it would be like to be wanted by El. To have the girl wear her clothes even though they wouldn’t fit perfectly since the brunette was almost a head taller than her now (which was unfair), and even steal a shirt or sweater that Max would spend weeks rummaging her closet for until considering the possibility that her, her girl– her girlfriend, would have committed the theft.

When Eleven shows up out the blue, alone and scared on the porch of Mike Wheeler, Mike doesn't know how to move. She's older, taller, hair longer, eyes dimmer, and lips quivering. As the feeling rushes back into his body with a force crushing enough to make his shoulders sag and tears well up in his eyes he misses the privilege to be the first to touch her as Dustin shoves past him but immediately shoots back as he feels the ice of her skin.
(Alternatively: Eleven is understandably cold and her friends love her very much, one in a very different way to the others.)
