Evie doesn't swear, which is unheard of on the Isle. Even the smallest of kids have a mouth of them, it's hard not to pick up the habit when you grow up in an environment like that.
The rest of the VKs have heard her swear on occasion though, and they know it means the situation is bad. And that doesn't make much sense, they're safe now. They rescued Ben from Uma's crew, the barrier is getting further and further behind them, and the most pressing danger is his and Mal's… Awkwardness, as Dude so eloquently put it.
