Evelina Petrova was a pretty normal woman. She was one of the medics and physical therapists at the Montreal Voyageurs, she loved partying and other than that there wasn’t anything unordinary about her. Well, apart from the fact that her twin brother was Ilya Rozanov of course.

We follow the life of Evelina Rozanova who is extremely close with Ilya and somehow has to keep a pokerface whenever she sees Shane Hollander after her brother tells her in detail about all the shit they went through.
January 3rd: I have a writing addiction and started writing this story on the first of January and have already written 105k in words. Thank the lords for the winter holiday. Will try to update daily, but on the 5th of january work starts again so will only be able to write about 1 chapter a day and I am sort of anal about the whole 'Be at least 5 chapters' ahead. Luckily I've just finished writing chapter 21 so alls good for at least a week! :)

Summary
It was Hollander’s absence that had created this void. It wasn’t that Ilya had even cared, before. A quick thrill, that both knew would end. But then, Hollander had hijacked Ilya’s life, refashioned it in his own image, shaped it to fit the empty space he left in his wake. It was terribly cruel, the immeasurable impact that human beings could have on one another. Even more cruel, to walk away from the mess you had created, as Hollander had. At least have the decency to make it mean something.
After a nervous collapse, Shane Hollander returns home, only to be brought back into contact with the man he left behind, six years prior.

Summary
A new Russian player, Dimitri Novikov, is drafted onto the Ottawa Centaurs in the same season that Shane Hollander is unceremoniously traded from the Montreal Voyageurs. His reasons for leaving Montreal are unclear, and the reasons he chose Ottawa are even less so. However, as Dimitri begins to suspect that Shane secretly knows Russian, his curiosity ends up getting him wrapped up in a relationship he didn’t even know existed. But perhaps a little turbulence is what Shane and Ilya needed to realize their relationship is strong enough to weather anything that comes their way.

“Did you decide to tell us because of what Scott Hunter did?” The question was gentle, almost as if his dad was afraid to spook him. “What he did was very brave.”
“I had been thinking about it for some time, but that was definitely one of the reasons that made me do it now.” He took a deep breath. “After I saw him doing that, all I could think about was not having to hide anymore. Not from you, not from the team... not from the world.”
He could see the fantasy in his head: him and Ilya walking around, hand-in-hand, traveling and having fun. Being together in the light of day, not just in dark hotel rooms, having to be quiet, hiding.
“Would you want to? Come out, publicly, I mean.” There was worry in his mother’s voice.
He thought about it, really, without letting the fear cloud his judgment.
“Yes.”

He skated off, chest heaving, jaw tight, circling behind the net the way he always did when he needed to cool off. The part of Shane that is not panicking goes soft with how…eager Ilya seems for Shane and Svetlana to meet, for Shane to like her. It’s strange, it’s new, it’s wonderful to be able to think about making plans like this. Dinner with Shane’s parents, meeting Ilya’s friends, like that’s something they can have.
So that’s why Shane beats down the urge to crank up the gas on the stove and light a match, gives Ilya a wide and normal grin, and says “Yeah, of course. I’d love to meet Svetlana.”
Ilya sighs and his eyes light up and, oh, Shane wants to love him in the light of day. Suddenly, Shane has an idea that will hopefully stop him from doing something rash that will get him on the news and/or in prison. “And you should meet Rose!”
