Kirishima wasn’t a fool. Well atleast not the biggest one.
Yes, he often scored low on nearly every monotonous test. But he liked to think that what he lacked in intelligence, he made up for with charisma. He knew UA would be hard but always thought, “if.. I just work harder I can do it! I can’t back away due to fear” and that saying had stuck with him throughout the years. Whenever he had any particularly gruelling day, he would simply repeat those words until his head no longer felt as stuffy and suddenly a weight he never knew was there, was relieved from his heart.

Kaminari didn’t want to hear anything else, and he quickly hurried away to go to his own dorm, eyes stinging. He knew he wasn’t the strongest, and he had shitty control over his quirk. But to hear his friends say those things was completely different.
He locked himself in his dorm, breathing picking up while the lights in his room flickered. He could feel his tics building back up, and he threw himself on his bed as tears began to fall. Kaminari’s muscles were already starting to hurt as his head jerked to the side. His lights flickered again, and he grabbed a fidget toy from his bedside table in an attempt to calm down, but the tic only got more aggressive.
His tongue was numb from the incessant buzzing sound he was making in between sobs, and he was focusing so hard on not using his quirk that he couldn’t focus on breathing properly. Kaminari felt like he was losing it, and when his phone vibrated with a text, he choked on spit.
