He remembers what it’s like to be powerless. To be used. To flinch, and pretend he didn’t. Kindness doesn’t come easy anymore. But he’s learning. Slowly. Painfully. Shidou doesn’t ask questions. He just stays — loud, steady, present — again and again, until Sae stops bracing for the worst. And maybe, in the spaces between silence and touch, Sae learns what it feels like to be safe. Maybe, even, what it means to be loved.
