Summary
A rumor had spread around the higher ups of Eastern command, one so exciting that every colonel and brigadier general was buzzing around the command trying to get a lick of what everyone had been whispering about.
It was a very undercover operation, but Roy has ears everywhere.
Apparently there were incredibly powerful alchemists, two brothers that went rogue. It was rumored that the men were masters of the science; they had been hiding out in some tiny farming town. And when some officer had gone off to try and recruit them, instead he had found the aftermath of two human transmutations and much more depravity in the burnt remnants of their small cottage. The alchemists were nowhere to be found.
Now every power hungry officer in Eastern Command wanted to catch the alchemists and claim the biggest promotion of a lifetime. However there was nothing else to aid in the search for the brothers, hell it was still up to debate if there were two people. Risembool was a tight lipped town and the house, the site of their crime, was mostly a pile of ash.
But Roy is going to be fuhrer

To round them up before the Warden finds out, the guards team up with the Amestrian military.

Summary
Edward Elric has fulfilled his promise and, at the cost of his alchemy, has brought back his brother's body. Now, as an ordinary person, he lives in Resembool and travels in search of knowledge. His peaceful life is disrupted by a message from his former superior, who asks him for help. The investigation takes him to a dangerous place, where he goes despite his brother's protests.
Roy Mustang has consolidated his position and with a sigh of relief, everything returns to normal. He continues to receive messages from the Elric brothers, who supply him with the results of their knowledge journeys. However, they cease a week after he sends Ed on a mission. Worried, he assures himself that it is nothing, until the younger of the brothers bursts into his office with a face full of tears and information regarding his missing brother. The hunt for Edward Elric is just beginning with the opponents hiding in the shadows.

The China circuit hates him; he is quite sure of it. DRS issues on the final laps while he is desperately fighting for the sweetness of a podium. Last year was the stupid engine — DNF.
"Then hold the fuck on."
"Not helping," Roy snaps. "Do something useful instead of just telling me things I already know."
"It's my job to tell you the issues we're having."
Four more laps. Four. He can do it. This set of soft tires is almost gone. The brakes feel weird. The DRS is fucked. He can do it. Four.
"Edward," he says like it's a curse. "Just shut up and let me drive."

In Ed's Year group he meets a certain four people; Moony, Padfoot, Wormtail and Prongs. Follow Ed throughout the years in Hogwarts and into the First Wizarding War with Voldemort.

Edward yelped and clamoured at the pain, before the knife retracted and came back again to twist in between his ribs. The boy screamed, pounding his own weapon into the man's stomach and swiping across the soft belly. His stomach tore open, the sharp blade cut his skin like butter as he wobbled away, the blood he leaked trailing on the snow before he fell down a few feet away.
Edward backed away as well, his back thumping into a bit of tall rubble as his knees buckled underneath the shaking and jolt of pain from the wall. He let himself slide down, legs spurring out and hand firmly over his wounds.

He works through his memories (which are just random - he swears!) and the frustration that is Colonel Mustang in order to find this mystery killer, and put his creepy killings to an end.
Oh - and those memories? I'm sure they have nothing to do with the killer at all!
