Kevin Wendell Crumb had his story. David Dunn had his story; both were part of one of the many tragic schemes of Mr. Glass, but what about the other mass murders of Mr. Glass? If he created The beast and The Overseer, could he had made others?
After losing both of her parents in a plane crash, Eclipsa and her sisters are left orphaned. Placed in the hands of their grandmother, like Kevin, they are abused beyond measure. Now an adult, the deep scars of abuse follow her. Haunting her like shadows. Using her pain as fuel she enters the police academy, where she climbs the latter to Captain. Vowing to protect her community and those who are suffering, she takes back control. After the many robberies and muggings lead her to the Philadelphia Zoo, she has no choice but to reside there for further investigation. Where she meets Kevin, an interesting man that seems to change moods like the weather. Following their embarrassing first encounter, she tries to make amends. Now stationed around the zoo, she sees more of the compelling man. Could they be friends? Could they find similarities between each other? But why was he staring at her so intently? And when did his blue eyes become so mesmerizing?

In need of a job with decent benefits, former self-employed cleaner Mia has just started work at the zoo. There she meets Kevin, the seemingly moody head of maintenance. His warm to cold behavior leaves her a little confused, but she has so many quirks of her own that she's not one to judge.
Slowly she and Kevin become friends, though Mia harbors romantic feelings for him. Eventually she learns that Kevin has DID and the man she is falling in love with is Dennis, an alter in his system. Over time, she develops romantic relationships with some of his alters and friendships with the others.
While getting to know each other, they also befriend Casey Cooke, a regular visitor at the zoo who is hiding a terrible secret. From past experience, Kevin surmises what Casey is going through. He and Mia swear to do whatever it takes to help her, and the three discover that being part of a family has less to do with blood than with actual caring.

Originally a smutty oneshot named “Dennis’ Proclivity” but I was inspired to turn it into a full-fledged story and changed the title to better fit the new chapters, as it is no longer just about Dennis’ proclivity.
This takes place during and after Split. After Dennis has captured Casey, Claire, and Marcia, he becomes fixated on Casey. It started out as fantasizing about what he wanted to do to her, but then it became more than that. It was no longer enough to just fantasize about her; he wanted her. His feelings for Casey are just enough to make him question the morality of the Beast’s revolution.

Both Barry and Dennis love Kevin fiercely and work tirelessly to relieve him of his suffering. As the years go by and Kevin shows no signs of improving, Dennis is persuaded to pay an unthinkable price in the name of protecting his charge, but Barry doesn't believe such an offering is theirs to give.
He soon comes to realize that even a brotherhood forged by struggle and pain is not exempt from being offered up as a sacrifice to the alter of the Beast.
"Split" meets "The Fox and the Hound", because apparently neither movie was sad enough for me. A love letter to my two favorite alters and the brief prequel to “Turning Traitor”.
