Robin pulled him down to the floor and into his strong embrace, laughing as he tried to wriggle free. “I will, Tim. I promise."

At the age of 9, Bruce Wayne's parents die from a criminal and vampire bounty hunter, Joe Chill. To make some extra cash, Joe was trying to kill only Thomas Wayne. Gotham's most prolific vampire at the time, with a gun that fired a silver bullet. However, Martha jumped in front of Thomas to save her husband, and they both die that faithful night in crime alley. Leaving a very human looking Bruce Wayne traumatized. Joe Chill ran away, distraught from the fact he killed an innocent woman, in front of a child no less.
This Trauma causes Bruce to get his fangs. And a human Alfred Pennyworth tried his best to raise this poor dhampir. Teaching him the value of mercy and to not ever lose sight of his humanity.
When Bruce becomes Batman to fight crime and kill only the worst of vampires, he meets the ultimate evil vampire. The Demon of Gotham, later to be known as Joker.
But due to Bruce's ignorance of his vampiric side, instinct leads him down a dark path of turmoil from his developing feelings for Gotham's biggest monster.

First, literally two minutes into patrol, you’d gotten caught between a shootout that involved both Black Mask and Jason. The latter who almost shot you and had nothing but a laugh to give at your outraged noise over comms.
Second, you’d caught Catwoman and B making out on some random ass rooftop, only to be laughed at (again!?) by Barbara who’d given you no notice!
