It was Tim's first time at the circus; his parents suddenly decided to take him, perhaps they were going because Tim had been asking for a sibling, but that was probably wishful thinking on Tim's part. Do they even give away siblings at the circus? Tim was having fun at least; he got his first hug from a boy whom he would love to have as a sibling, and then, almost as if the universe listened to his wants, that boy's parents fell to their deaths. The universe must have some twisted sense of humor, but who was Tim to deny such an opportunity? Though, like most things, he couldn't stop at one. Soon, he was collecting siblings like Pokémon.

Tim stepped off the bus that feeling in his gut became stronger, like something was holding his insides and was stopping them from moving like they should, like they were being kept tense waiting for something to tell them they should relax or were forcibly kept limp, these limp and tense organs were wrapped up inside him into a knot, that was everywhere inside of him in his gut behind his ribcage towards somewhere low in his throat blocking the words he had no one to speak to. The grip on his insides held on as he peddled his bike home and up the driveway towards the manor. He parked his bike, didn’t bother opening the garage but left it outside, not in view of the security cameras.

Almost a year after the attack, Batman has not found enough evidence to determine who killed Janet Drake and badly injured her husband. If he can solve the case and guarantee that there is no further threat, that might be the leverage he needs to convince Jack to let Tim visit the Waynes on weekends.
Jack Drake knows who killed his wife. He has no intention of giving anyone a single hint that he knows anything. He will not put his son in danger.
Tim Drake has no idea who killed his mom but he's not going to sit alone in his room pretend that her murder didn't happen.
