It's funny, how crucial certain events are in the formation of a world's history. At the last possible second, the world is turned aside from its certain end when Obito receives access to some knowledge and abilities from a future that can result only in the end of the world. He's able to save Rin and return to Konoha, but his time in Madara's cave has changed him.
Kakashi was there even before he was, but now that they're reunited, they can team up to save the world. If they work together, surely there's nothing that they can't do.
A lot is still rotten with their world—but it's the last possible timeline that doesn't lead to the inevitable end of the world, and their family and friends are mostly still alive, so Kakashi and Naruto will take it. It's not the best timeline—it's just the last good one.(Originally based on a genjutsu world a bit like the Infinite Tsukuyomi, designed to torture the victims with visions of realities that could have been, but I grew fond of that world and made it an actual AU. It's not a perfect world, but its idealised nature lends itself to positive feels, so—!)

When I was on this planet we call Earth, I prided myself in reading countless pieces of fanfiction, most of them Naruto-related. My favourite tropes included Time travel and SI inserts, however, I never imagined I’d somehow end up living something so obviously fake in real life.

Like, it's actually quite specific, what I was looking for, and this isn't quite it, but it overlaps nicely with my other fic, so who am I to deny him a trippy trip to an alternate timeline? Even if he never asked for it.

During the quest to capture the Threetails, Deidara gets sent back in time to an alternate timeline where he is now the only member of a criminal organisation that never existed, and has to try to adjust to living in this strange, peaceful world. Everyone else was just trying to get back to some semblance of normalcy in the era after facing the Juubi and losing so much. Hatake Kakashi never wanted to be Hokage, but that's what he became. During an ambush, Naruto jumps in front of a jutsu that would tear his former sensei's soul from his body. The jutsu begins to tear Kurama away instead. In a desperate bid to save both his and Naruto's life, Kurama does something almost as unpredictable as his host. He tries to send them back in time a day. This would have worked fine, except Kurama might have...overshot things a bit.
Oh, wow, is that a chibi Naruto running around? What year is it again?
Jiraiya begins hearing rumors of a man called the "Lost Uzumaki" that has made a seismic debut on the shinobi world stage. The only thing is that S-class nin don't just pop out of nowhere...usually. Jiraiya is sent to track down the nin and determine his loyalties. His new life depends on a good impression. The good thing is that Uzumaki Naruto's true superpower is his ability to talk even the most unwilling into submission. Meet Uzumaki Kuniharu!
