Summary
Ross took up his Uncle's suggestion of leaving Cornwall and mining, but instead of studying at school, he became a pirate. Four years after leaving Cornwall, Ross Poldark is the Captain of his own ship, Wheal Leisure, and lays anchor in the Caribbean Island of Nassau to trade the goods he and his men have pirated. Once there, he meets the infamous Captain James Flint, who's looking for a partner in his hunt for the Urca de Lima and sets his eyes, not only on Poldark's ship and men, but possibly Poldark himself.

Urca de Lima, příležitostně známá také pod jménem The Hulk. Největší španělská galeona, která kdy křižovala indické vody. Věří se, že na jejích palubách je zboží a zlato v hodnotě pěti milionů dolarů.
Jediným zájmem a ambicí kapitána Jamese Flinta, plavícího se pod pirátskou vlajkou je získat tuhle kořist nesmírné hodnoty pro sebe a svou posádku. Od záměru přejde k činům poté, co objeví informaci, že loď putuje bez jakéhokoli doprovodu.
Avšak ne nadarmo je Urca de Lima přirovnávána k plovoucí pevnosti. A Flint jistě není jediný, kdo po jejím nákladu prahne.

So, the application. For the TV show Wedding at First Sight.
Izzy takes another sip of his beer. He can’t believe he’s resorting to trying to get onto an arranged marriage reality show in order to find a partner. That has to be a new low, he thinks, love-life-wise. But he’s somewhat comforted in the knowledge that arranged marriages have been happening for centuries, and have served the exact purpose that he wants his to.
He scans over the application one more time, and clicks “submit”.

James had only been in the Caribbean a few months before he found the Three Ducks, the closest Nassau had to a molly house; he hadn’t been expecting much, but then he met Jack.
Jack hadn’t intended to get involved with a British sailor, much less one who was very probably Navy; but James was an utter delight, both in and out of bed.
They established rules early on: no surnames, no identifiable details. Blissful ignorance and all. But they both knew deep down that the rules were really more like guidelines anyway.
Or: me wondering what CotBP would be like if Jack and James already had an established relationship.
