“Maybe I like to live dangerously.” Draco shrugs and then is silent for a while.
He runs his hand through his hair as he turns to face Hermione and his eyes seem to be searching her own.
"Or maybe, I might need your help.” He says, quietly and softly. For the first time tonight, she sees traces of warmth in his eyes.

The characters are not mine, they belong to JK Rowling, but the story is mainly headcanon, with a few canonical references.
This is essentially a rewrite from year six onwards. Certain events, and the timing of events have been changed to fit in with the storyline.
Special note: For the purpose of this story, there is no librarian. Madam Pince does not exist.
Torture and violence is mentioned but there are no graphic depictions of either.
There are no explicit sexual scenes, but consensual sex is implied.
This is only my second Dramione and constructive comments are welcomed. I write for fun and hope you enjoy reading my version of events.

“What do you suggest then, Minerva? What family could keep her safe from those who are angry with their lord’s defeat, while not allowing her to be placed on a pedestal? There are too many that would take advantage of such access to the girl-who-lived, as they are calling her.” Dumbledore asked distractedly.
An idea occurred to her. An idea more reckless and Gryffindor-like than any stunt her students had pulled since the Marauders graduated.
“I could do it,” she said, hardly believing the words were leaving her own mouth.

It would be comical if I started talking about the thing. But actually I think that's what the opening sentence is made for. The truth is, I didn't want to cheat. I know it's cliché for a husband to say this. Or that there was never really anything there. But, fuck. What the hell was wrong with me? Or was it just him that was the problem? I guess I'll never know.
Screw the idea of love. None of this would have happened if Dor-, no, me had been like this. Or in the end, it wasn't meant to be her. It was always Sirius. And as corny as it may sound, it is, I'm confessing all of this because I have nothing else to lose but my son. Since I've lost everything. Home. Pension money. After years of being turned into a weapon for the Order and sent to the thickest battles and winning while being looked at with fear and suspicion each time she walks away from the battlefield, and a mixture of hero worship and fear for being the next Dark Lord, Elysia decides to travel the world to explore and learn and to relearn her control of her magic after coming back from her death.
One day when visiting the Gateway Arch, her holiday is interrupted by three kids and a Chimaera drawing her into a world of gods and myths, which might just hold more answers and explanations as to why her magic feels the way it does, and why the title of "The Morrigan" bestowed on her by the magical world feels like it has so much weight to it.
