This story follows the untold story of the adults in The Order of The Phoenix and their efforts in preparing for the second wizarding war. A deep exploration of Sirius Black’s character, and a slow burn romance.
Recruitment efforts result in a forgotten face from Remus Lupin and Sirius Black’s school years being enlisted to the Order. Lexa has been living in the muggle world with her muggle father since the first wizarding war, but she decides to rejoin the wizarding world after being convinced by Remus Lupin she is needed to support Harry, her best friend Lily’s son. It becomes clear that she and Sirius have a shared history that, stubbornly, neither of them want to discuss or admit to. But, at the same time the darkness that has enveloped Sirius doesn’t seem to be shiftable by anyone but her.

Summary

“Remus, he needs someone who can connect with him…” Minerva’s voice had a desperate edge to it, “He doesn’t trust us.”
“And you think he’ll trust me? I’m as much a stranger to him as you.” He turned his eyes to Dumbledore, pushing past the discomfort as they made eye contact and his soul was pierced by the shrewd gaze.
“We think he may trust you because you and he have similar… backgrounds.”
He frowns at her, trying to put the pieces of what she’s saying together. Similar backgrounds? Shitty childhoods, maybe?
“Harry was not attacked.” Dumbledore says, breaking the silence, “He perpetrated it.”
A cold chill runs through Remus’ body. His mouth is suddenly far too dry and he feels as if bands wrap around his chest. He shakes his head.
“What?” He wheezes out, feeling all at once that his chest will cave in when he hears what Dumbledore has to say.
“I’m sorry to have to tell you this.” Dumbledore sounds truly grieved, and Remus feels bile rise in his throat. He’d used that same tone of voice when he’d found him after news about James and Lily, Peter and Sirius had broken. Had it really already been four years since he’d lost them?
“Harry is an Obscurial.”
