Summary

Post season 4, vaguely pre-season 5. Things fall apart, to say the least. After everything, the party's not really a party anymore. Mike wants to fix it, but he doesn't know how.
Mike's POV, lots of emotions, I tried writing in the present tense which I don't normally do. There's byler, there's an el-initiated milkvan breakup, there's the party (sans max unfortunately) being friends. Hypothetically this could take place between seasons, but I'm certain there'll be something in season 5 that makes that impossible.

Detroit Station is home to a dying populace, a once thriving manufacturing space station now hanging on with a fraction of it's original population. Still, to Detective Gavin Reed it's home and more importantly the hub of his employment. The Detroit Station's police department has recently expanded its space sector, with new jurisdiction over human colonies on a dozen more planets and space stations.
One of these newly added planets is Jericho, home to an android population with a small established settlement of humans. These androids are known for being nonviolent so when a murdered human was discovered it was considered exceptionally unusual. With Gavin's recent return to the station the case was assigned to him. It would be routine if not for the requirement to team up with an android. Saying he wasn't thrilled with his new partner would be an gross understatement. But it was his job, and perhaps this new partner would pleasantly surprise him. More outlandish things have happened...
