Goro Akechi wasn’t supposed to live to see his nineteenth birthday, but fate and destiny (and Ren Amamiya) had other ideas. He's been given a second chance, thanks in no small part to the mysterious beings that call the Velvet Room home. Now Theodore and his siblings have a job for him, and Goro always repays his debts.

Now he’s got to deal with training his teammates, forming bonds to power himself up, and getting to the bottom of where all these new supervillains are coming from. Even with the help of his friends and the mysterious Velvet Room, it will take a true will of rebellion to win with the odds stacked so high against him.

Akechi makes a deal with an insufferably powerful stranger and finds a kindred spirit in a teenage megalomaniac.
Yoshizawa dances on the puppeteer's strings, even as her true self roils within its cage.
And unknown to all, Azazoth lurks within a madman's dream and bides its time, waiting for a chance to save this mad and alien world.It’s up to the Trickster to help this maladjusted Mastermind and her slightly more troubled Thieves topple a conspiracy and outwit a false god.
