Summary
The story begins at the end of DMC3, as they leave the Temen-ni-Gru. Dante invites Lady to rest in his office. But once the adrenaline fades, she realizes that her injury has weakened her far more than she had imagined.
It is a story that traces the founding of the Devil May Cry office, the birth of a partnership between two demon hunters, and how their wounds gradually heal through friendship… with a few added benefits.
Note: I know that canonically Dante and Lady are 18–19 at the end of DMC3 (and Lady is even a minor in some sources), but here I place them in their early twenties. Both of them have a relatively mature approach to relationships.
This work is an english translation from "Un partenariat brûlant".
Note : No smut before chapter 11.

L'histoire commence à la fin de DMC3, à la sortie du Temen Ni Gru. Dante invite Lady à se reposer dans son bureau. Mais, l’adrénaline retombée, elle réalise que sa blessure l’a beaucoup plus affaiblie qu’elle ne l’imaginait.
C’est un récit qui retrace la fondation du bureau Devil May Cry, la naissance d’un partenariat entre deux chasseurs de démons, et la façon dont leurs blessures se referment peu à peu grâce à une amitié… avec quelques avantages.
NB : Je sais que canoniquement Dante et Lady ont 18-19 ans à la fin de DMC3 (voire Lady mineure dans certaines sources), mais ici je les situe plutôt en début de vingtaine. Ils ont tous deux un rapport au relationnel plutôt mature.
Note : pas de smut avant le chapitre 11, le temps de construire la relation

My aim is to explore the evolution of Dante and Lady starting from DMC3 to DMC5 and stay as canon compliant as possible. The games and anime are considered canon for this work, additional media is heavily relied on for inspiration, but since it suffers so much from retcons, isn't strictly adhered to. Any constructive criticism, especially on the treatment of the characters, is welcome. Part 1 particularly deals with how they get from fighting demons together as the DMC3 credits roll to setting up the shop.
