Summary
The dream, this time, appears normal. A memory of him and Cayde in the Pale Heart, sat around the campfire, talking. Crow basks in it. He's listening to the crackle of the campfire and the sound of crickets when everything goes quiet - like how a forest goes silent when a predator approaches. A feeling of unease settles over him, that all too familiar sensation in his head returning.
Cayde speaks then, his voice foreign and far away, "𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘪𝘮. 𝘏𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨."
- With the Witness, and Cayde, gone, Crow settles in as the new Hunter Vanguard. But it's not long before he starts seeing and hearing things that make him wonder if any of it's truly over.

“Is… is there a reason you didn’t kill me?” His eyes squint slightly, like he’s in pain. Cayde can see the guilt behind them.
Unsure how to answer, Cayde brings his legs back down, rubbing a hand down his face. “Well, like I said, I thought about it. A lot.” He frowns, spinning Ace on his fingers. “But every time that crossed my mind, I’d see Glint and I’d remember who you really are. Uldren took my life, but you didn’t. I can’t make you pay for his mistakes.”
- After being attacked on the journey home following the defeat of the Witness, Cayde and Crow find themselves stranded on Europa.

However, the Guardian had hoped she would have time to rest after years of being at war, though she knows it was impossible, given that the paracausal artefacts had been created in its aftermath. She was no prophet, but as she stared at the green tear in the sky of an unknown planet, emitting unfamiliar paracausal energy, she can tell that it was a sign that her vacation was over.

Well, that was until the Hunter was unceremoniously woken up from a nap in a metal box by his Ghost and a girl with rabbit ears. And next thing he knows, he's effectively responsible for lives of nearly everyone he meets in his new workplace/home in the field and has to research a cure for an incurable illness, all while trying to get to the bottom of why there's chunks of his memory missing.
Just another day at the office, right?

An in depth exploration of a raid idea I had, including base concept, narrative, encounter mechanics, interludes, gear and lore. This raid takes place post-Final Shape and it very well may not follow the story Bungie wants to tell. It also involves characters and concepts which may never see the light of day in the canon events of the game (Aesop and his relationship with the Witness is a prime example). For all intents and purposes, you are free to just engage with the encounter designs and some of the concepts described without worrying too much about narrative cohesion and how it relates back to Destiny's ever evolving (and retconning) story. If you want to have a mental image of the design of the two bosses before reading the encounters they are featured in, you may find it in the Strides of Resurgence lore tab. Hope you enjoy reading this piece as much I enjoyed writing it.
