The Spirits may have come to a unanimous decision all those years ago, but one act can send a ripple. Gabriel, king of France, always knew this day would come. He felt it coming before he took the throne. Change is imminent; he may as well embrace it. But revolution is not the answer. These so-called heroes, however, pummel every human they cross. “No,” Adrien replies, rather weak like he’s wheezing— she catches that shaky inhale, the way he starts to squirm backwards, the absolute hilarity of him mentally calculating if he can make it to the other side of the room without her catching him. He can’t quite meet her in the eye, too busy looking at her and how Luka grins feral and excited at the idea. “What? Pfft, not at all,” he wheezes again.

She ghosted through the rainforest quickly, what little moonlight the pierced the trees her only guide. Her bare feet made no sound as she moved, cloak held tightly around her. The smell of water and rotting leaves filled the air, the leaves dripping slightly from a recent storm. The mottled green, dark brown and a colour so dark it was nearly black of her cloak made her almost invisible to the naked eye. Bluebell eyes scanned her surrounds constantly, one hand held close to the dagger at her hip. A snap echoed through the forest and the woman froze. She watched as much as she could without moving her head, the hood of her cloak hiding her face. A flicker of light drew her eye. She tensed as it grew closer. With it, came a voice.
