Summary
The Watchers had ruled over the city for as long as anyone could remember. They were seen as benevolent deities that protected the people from harm, watching over them for their safety.
In reality, they were monsters that used the people beneath them as pawns in their own game.
Grian and Pearl had been exposed to their cruelty many times, and they could simply not allow anyone else to be hurt by their unnatural apathy.
The Villies had formed, the siblings joined by Gem in their resistance against the government. With their plans falling into place and their actions escalating, the cities heroes begin to take closer notice of them. It was no matter to the group, joined by others who had realised the extent of the watchers evil.It was time for the watchers to fall.

Skizz and the rest of his band, The Half-American Rejects, are at a bar in the city, a battle of the bands going down there.
The band of 4 members have been practicing from this event for a month
Skizz sits in the back of the bar, sipping on a bottle of water before it’s their turn
The next band goes onto stage.
It’s a girl and two guys.
The announcer steps onto the stage as they set up, “Our next performance is a band of three called ‘Gem & the Scotts’!"
The group is set up, all smiles as the announcer walks off the stage.
They start to play the instrumentals of the song.
Skizz’s heart rate picks up when his eyes land on the drummer.
He’s gorgeous.
Skizz barely registers when the blue haired man starts singing, he's to entranced by the brown haired drummer from the band.

And then it was over, and he- much like everyone else, he was sure- was left looking around in confusion, trying to figure out what that could possibly have-
Changed.
It was like staring into a mirror, if a mirror showed you all the things you secretly wished you still were. If the mirror showed an unattainable version of you, one who was untouched by everything that had happened since.
If the man in the mirror was exactly like BigB, but just different enough to remind him that this was a person he’d never be again.

BigB was a liar. He was known for it, in fact. But Bdubs felt drawn to him in spite of, or maybe even because of it. There was a certain thrill in figuring out which statements were fact or false, and it was almost a game to Bdubs. In their space, their tucked away corner of the Rejects base, they get close. And eventually Bdubs realises that he's closer to BigB than he ever would've predicted.
Or there's only one fic in the Bdubs/BigB ship tag and so I take it upon myself to fix that. BigB lies, and Bdubs falls for it. (in more ways than one)

Jimmy took a deep breath and looked straight to Joel “am I that bad that I'm not worth avenging or griefing over?” He choked back tears and Joel was extremely confused. Because he was sure that when they were the Bad Boys during Limited Life he went out his way to avenge the canary, Scott definitely cried over the blonde during Third Life, Martyn was also upset after losing him both in Last Life and Secret Life, and don't get him started with Lizzie, his wife was literally so worried about the blonde's safety and whereabouts during Wild Life, same goes for Scar. So he really doesn't know where this is coming from.

Where the physical bond, the string connecting them together, is severed. But the desire to remain by each other’s side stays. It is just that neither of them knows how to say so.
Post Past Life Episode Four. Joel is really back, with no armor, no tools, and no idea why Etho is the first person he seeks out. Maybe they started this fire. Title is from Bastille’s ‘The Things We Lost to the Fire.’
