It started with Sam. Sam, who despite his current afflictions of being the World Protector, always found time in his day to visit and communicate with her through sweet whistles. Sam always knew how to nudge a person in the right direction, Sybil supposed, but the direction he was trying to nudge her in made her anxiety spiral in the back of her mind.

Joining a group which combined both those things was a jarring experience! The end of the world can't truly be real though, can it? He's not even allowed to look at this supposed Visitor, for god's (or is it Visitor's now?) sake!
Sam had left already, and anyways, it's not like this stuff was real...

Hunger is a terrifying concept.
Hunger for sustenance is a topic well broached, but so uncommonly is the hunger for other things considered when discussing the simple word.
Starvation causes weakness and sufferage, so any living thing able to starve would do their best to avoid it.
Starvation of the mind is quite similar, humans are not unique in seeking stimulation, though they are unique in just how far they'll go for it. How willing the human being is to tear itself apart and lose everything for secrets of the universe.A rat may hurt itself out of bordeom.
But only a human would doom themself and all others in search of knowledge.Sam was once human.
And so he shall be again, the timer reset, now cursed with enlightenment he had so selfishly sought out.
