Reimu Hakurei, The shrine maiden of paradise finds herself and 14 other girls trapped in a Matsuri extermination festival, hosted by Yukari herself. They are told that this will last for 1 month. But if they want to leave sooner, they have to kill one of them and get away with it.
All for a reason the gap youkai doesn't elaborate on. Reimu for the first time will be forced to not charge straight into things and shoot. But no one is actually THAT impatient to leave right?

Summary
Koishi purchases a book report detailing treasures that have appeared across the Mountain and convinces her sister to adventure with her. Merry uses a new kind of trick to visit other worlds in her dreams much more safely than before, but she ends up in a time period much different than her own. She ends up in the Sengoku Period, but decades before Zanmu Nippaku had become an oni and convinced the denizens of Hell to create a new Hell, and many centuries before the Great Hakurei Barrier was formed. Merry encounters the Komeiji Sisters of the past who were trying to stop her from journeying further into the Mountain.
Merry wakes up and goes on a quest to visit Chireiden after meeting Koishi in both the past and present. The Hifuu Club end up getting caught in a crazy conspiracy incident within Gensokyo.
