It shouldn’t have been so satisfying, the way that made Henry blink like an owl, but it was. “I beg your pardon?”
“We’ll make it a contest,” Alex pressed on, the idea forming in his head simultaneously as the words left his lips, “Whoever has the most hookups by the end of June wins.”
At first, Henry didn’t say anything. But the party kept going on around them, music thumping and people chattering and drinks spilling, and as time inched on, Henry’s expression changed to one of almost… curiosity.

In his brain fog, he accidentally clicked on his camera roll instead of whatever app he was trying to go to. All he saw when the app opened was Minho. Doongie’s birthday pictures. Jisung sighed and clicked on them hesitantly.
Minho’s smile lit up his screen even though his brightness was low. The shine in Minho’s eyes when he looked at his cat. There was one of him looking at Jisung, past the phone, with a look of genuine happiness on his face. The shine in his eyes had gotten bigger, just like his smile, and Jisung felt his stomach spin like a washing machine full of guilt, and shame.
The bet was over, sure. Jisung got his money and that was that, he and Minho were still hanging out– but Jisung still felt sick thinking about it. The fact that their relationship was built on a hundred bucks.
(Or, Jisung accepts a bet to ask the weird kid out, but ends up developing real feelings)
