He and his superior, D.C.I Gene Hunt are working on yet another case together. “To what do i owe the pleasure today then, Guv?” Sam asked flatly, to which Gene interjected with a begrudging huff, “Couple a’ petty bastards have one of our own held hostage down by the canal.” He barked, seemingly irritated by the fact. “But, don’t you worry, Tyler. We’ll have ‘em nicked before they can stick the cartridge in the chamber.”

Especially when said mortifying ordeal means trying to unpick the barrier to physical intimacy that he and his Doctor will never seem to break through. It's the sensation of the future mistakes needed for the Doctor reach this point, where he can writhe unabashedly alien on silk sheets and Steven can bring himself to touch him, which worry Steven a lot more.
