Once again, I have caught brainrot and I need to get these funky ideas out outta my head!
Marco and Tom get caught under the light of the Blood Moon, but Marco flees before Tom or Star can discover who he is. And that would be fine, but when Marco wakes up to his mouth in pain the next morning, he finds out he's in for more than he bargained for.
The moon is a symbol of transformation, after all~

Summary
The truck jostles slightly, a constant back and forth as its inhabitants prepare themselves for a venture into the Upside Down, one last time. One last fight to end it all. One last time risking their lives for the fate of the world. If every time before this hadn’t been their “final fight,” maybe they wouldn’t have felt as grim as they plunged further into hell.
Vecna’s voice was like nails on a chalkboard. Unheard by all but one, the monster’s face was twisted into something that someone might have called a smile when he was still human. Now, though, it was more like watching a rabid dog bear its teeth. He ran a hand over Will Byers’s hair as he spoke.
“Do you think you’re worthy of him?” Vecna’s long, clawed fingers slid gently over Will’s face, but Will wasn’t frightened. He continued speaking idly with his mother, a small smile on his face. “Doesn’t he deserve better?” On the other side of the truck a pair of brown eyes had slid out of focus, body rigid, unwilling to move despite its owner’s protests. Terror seized them as they watched Vecna taunt them, gnarled hands placed gently onto Will’s shoulders.

“You think I couldn’t figure it out? As soon as you mentioned your crush, I knew. God, it all made sense then.” He took a step closer to Will. Another, and another, until their faces are only inches apart. “Why you always clung to me, why you treated me differently compared to the rest of the party, why you let me see and keep your drawings. Only me.”
Will can’t help but smile, in relief and in fondness, all his anger dissipating. Now it all feels obvious, when Mike says it aloud. He’s always cared for him in a special way, a way that reflects into his life, even after so many years. Even after their fallouts.
“It’s funny now that I mention it, especially since I’d rather die than ever be with you romantically.”
His smile fades, and Mike truly does look like a monster. The angles of his face fall symmetrically, so similar to Henry.
Henry.
Oh.
Or; A finale rewrite with Byler, the Party, and a little bit of fantasy.

Summary
Mike clears his throat loudly, dragging Will’s attention back from his thoughts. He snaps his eyes up to him, observing the look on his face which lies somewhere between a ‘I’m ready for a gate to the Upside Down to open and swallow me right now.’ and ‘I’m deeply sorry for what I’m about to do next.’
Oh no.
He’s about to do something really stupid.
Or, Mike kisses Will in front of the Party. Naturally, he has to kiss everyone else.

Summary
Vecna is gone. Everyone has graduated their classes and have moved on. Will moved to NYC with his brother Jonathan and pursuing art. He's trying to live a normal life. But his past haunts him. His love for Mike Wheeler haunts him even more.
Will is trying to fill that desperate emptiness in his heart with someone else who just doesn't get him. But nothing feels the same as the way his heart jumps at the way Mike Wheeler smiles at him.
