The others nodded in agreement and Omega looked around the room, shoulders dropping.
“So that’s it?” She asked quietly. “We’re just going to do nothing?”
“We won’t be doing nothing,” Echo said, kneeling down in front of her and squeezing her shoulder. “We’re just playing it safe.”
What if Hemlock didn’t cut off Crosshair’s warning message? And what if The Bad Batch actually listened to it?
It's been 5 years since Crosshair managed to send out his warning from Mount Tantiss. In that time, the remaining members of Clone Force 99 have fully settled into their lives on Pabu. But the Empire isn't something you can easily ignore, or hide from. So of course, in typical Bad Batch fashion, all it takes is one simple mission for their lives to be upended, and the Galaxy to pull them back into the fight, whether they are ready or not.

Summary
“Good to see you’re awake today,” he said leadingly, prodding to get some sort of reaction.
He’s awake today, Echo had said, and Hunter had refrained from pointing out that Crosshair had been awake the last two times Hunter went to visit, only pretending to be asleep.
Crosshair continued to stare out into space, eyes distant and unfocused. The heavy bags under his eyes made the hollowness of his cheekbones stand out, and combined with the pallor skin he looked more like a corpse than he did a living, breathing person.
Hunter, Wrecker, and Echo have rescued Omega and Crosshair from Mount Tantiss. All Hunter can do now is try to pick up the pieces and keep what family he has left together.
Healing is never easy. Neither is forgiveness. Especially when the person you're trying to forgive is yourself.

“It would appear Nala Se left something behind,” Tech said, adjusting his glasses. “Or, rather, someone.”
Crosshair sighed tiredly, dropping his head into his palm.
“What the hell are you talking about?”
“Nala Se had a daughter,” Hunter said. It still felt so strange saying it out loud. “A twelve year old girl named Omega.”
It was hard to pinpoint exactly when everything changed. When Rex went to jail. When Echo moved in. When Dad died. When Crosshair left. For years, Hunter and his brothers have been coasting numbly through life, just trying to survive to the next day. Then Hunter gets a call from social services telling him their mother is dead and they have a half-sister they never knew about, and everything they thought they knew is completely flipped on its head.
Ugly truths are revealed as they are forced to confront their past, and one little girl changes the lives of five brothers in ways they didn't realize they needed.

He tried not to let his gaze linger on Wrecker’s hulking figure as he ran out to greet Omega. Or the sheer, palpable relief on Hunter’s face when he saw Omega in Wrecker’s arms. He looked away fully when Hunter ran down the steps two at a time to collapse in front of the girl, holding her close.
He quickly squashed the small part of himself that longed for a similar warm welcome.

Crosshair stared at the other man for a long moment before lifting his helmet and slipping it back on. Silently, he turned back to the ray shield and pressed the button on his vambrace to turn it off before stepping through. As the shield powered back on and he made to step away, he turned back.
“I don’t know,” he said softly.
A few months after the events of The Bad Batch, Crosshair struggles to reconcile his choice with the harsh truth of the world around him. He finds enlightenment in the most unlikely of places and realizes he may have made the wrong decision. But is it too late to do something about it?
Two years after the events of The Bad Batch, Rex reluctantly agrees to allow Hunter and his squad to help him rescue a man who's been captured by the Empire, an Imperial double agent who's cover has been blown. What Hunter thought to be a simple extraction ends up having far greater consequences for their squad than he could have ever anticipated.

Summary
They lay there quietly for a moment, not close enough to touch but close enough to feel the warmth radiating from the other and take comfort in it. Rex could feel the blanket around him shift with every breath Anakin took and he wasn't surprised to find it helped settle his racing mind a bit.
Anakin lifted a finger and tapped it against Rex’s nose, chuckling quietly when Rex’s nose scrunched up in response.
