They believe it, they pass their lives in fear, they hate Him and themselves and yet they'd die for His sake.”” The voice in his ear is grating, filled with crunching metal and bars and tones. Darkness is replaced by that hellish red glow of the lure, beaming brightly and without pause. It sways in front of his eyes as liquid teeth bypass their glass prison, pressing dangerously against his back. Alastor could feel the lacerated tongue slide up his spine as Vox continued to speak. “Are you willing to die, Ḃ̷̨̡̫͓͈̰̗̜̒̄̅͘ḁ̸̫̦̝̒͜m̸̭̹̟̓́̈́́̎̕͠ḅ̷̡̪̭͈͋̐̄̏̿̽ͅî̸̧̤̣̘͆̿̐̇͛̋̑͝?”

For the first time in over seven years, watching Alastor had been a thrill. It was a unique pleasure– seeing him bleed. He could remember the celebration, the exhilaration, a vigorous energy he had nowhere else to put until he had Val’s tongue nearly halfway down his throat. Even then, Alastor was all he could think about. The useless bastard was wasting away somewhere, clutching whatever was left of his pride, and Vox had never felt more alive.
The feeling lasted for about a day.

A week after the end of season 1, Vox is forced into going to an overlord meeting, and for several reasons, can barely stand being in a room with Alastor. He decides the best course of action is blackmailing him.
