The bond company sees the SecUnit’s sentience as a selling point, not an ethical quandary. Dr. Mensah believes that it is a person before she ever lays eyes on it. Meeting that person and folding them into their lives requires a lot of hard discussions and complicated preparations. Only some of this was covered in the rental documents.

Crowley drifts through the cottage, idly gathering stray cups and wine glasses with the intent to wash them only to abandon the task halfway through. Two months ago, the sight of their kitchen in such a state would make him want to scream. It makes him want to scream now, of course, but that’s hardly the kitchen’s fault, is it? Not when literally everything makes him want to bury his claws deep into his own face and scream until he can’t scream anymore.
(It's some number of days after they quit counting the days in quarantine. There's a flaming sword of thorns where Crowley's spine should be.)

The world tilted but Tim ignored it, watching Nightwing move onto a young woman who was clutching onto one of her arms, blood streaming down from the injury that had been hidden beneath gauze.
Nightwing really must have used every single medical supply he had on his person, and probably from the Café’s and surrounding businesses first aid kits too and yet there was no sign of any emergency personnel around.
They were coming though, Tim knew they were coming, distant sirens echoing like they always did in Gotham.
Tim breathed, he breathed and he watched and he even smiled grimly when Nightwing glanced back towards him because Tim was alright and Nightwing couldn’t afford to waste time worrying about him.

It’s the middle of the night and Tim has no idea why he’s outside the Wayne manor. He doesn’t remember the walk from the Drake residence to his neighbor’s, can’t fathom why he’s even here in nothing but a sleep shirt and boxers. He doesn’t recall vomiting, but clearly it happened, because he’s staring at a puddle of his own sick on the ground.
Dear god, he thought over the buzzing in his skull. I just threw up on Batman’s front steps.
Hurt and disoriented, Tim finds himself outside the Wayne Manor. Good thing there’s people inside who care about him.
