”Holy shit, I sound crazy, don’t I?” He sends her a defeated expression. “You don’t believe me at all. You think I made up some weird parasocial relationship with a bunch of random celebrities.”
She clears her throat. “You don’t sound crazy, Eddie. I don’t use that word. I often see people who struggle, and these friendships sound like they’re very real to you.”
”They sound real to me,” he parrots. “What a nice way to say they’re all in my head.”

Eddie comes home from Derry a different man, ready to make a clean break from his old life. He’s always been direct, so he tells Myra about recent events, so that she can understand why things have to change. Myra, however, isn’t about to let him go so easily. Now facing a psychiatric commitment, how can Eddie prove his competency, when everything that has happened to him recently is literally straight out of a horror novel? Doc is a very intelligent man who has never done anything wrong, ever.
Consequently, the fact that there is now a stranger in the middle of his lab, looking utterly disheveled and very confused, is absolutely not his fault. Neither is the smoking phone booth-like machine which the stranger has just stumbled out of. This is all going perfectly normal and according to plan.

Which would be a relief, except he looks exactly like Percy: same green eyes, same trouble making smile, same black hair. The only differences are the fact that Theo is six years older, covered in battle scars, and the black tattoo on his arm. A trident and the letters SPQR.
Theo is eighteen, powerful, and unclaimed. And his resemblance to Percy could set a dangerous precedent.
