Summary
A silent disease begins to spread across the United States, hidden behind disappearances, isolated attacks, and suppressed information. At first, the symptoms seem ordinary, but they soon reveal something impossible to ignore: people are changing.
The infection rewrites the human body, activating prehistoric genetic traits. Scales emerge, eyes become predatory, and bones reorganize, creating creatures that resemble different types of dinosaurs.
Most of the infected lose their humanity, driven only by basic instincts. The most dangerous among them, however, are known as Alphas.
They retain intelligence, strategy, and partial awareness.
All Alphas share three primary motivations:
to protect their territory,
to consume as much meat as possible,
and to find, mark, and claim their Omega.
While governments hide the truth and secrets from the past resurface, the disease continues to evolve.

Under the sunlight and away from the plants, Suguru could see Satoru in all detail. He was longer than he was tall, with extremely fine features for his size. Its white scaly skin was striking, blinding under the light. But he wasn’t pure white, Suguru realized. And it wasn’t all scales, either.
“It’s got feathers,” he said, stupidly.
Haibara-san gushed, “That was a surprise for everyone. Satoru is mostly Utahraptor, to get that size, but no one expected him to have that many feathers. The higher ups hated him when he came out of the egg; said he looked like a fancy chicken and threatened to have him cooked.”
“They really threatened to eat him?”
“Said they’d come down to the island and put him in a pot themselves. Then they sent Masamichi-sensei to look over the project. That was a couple years ago.”. . .
Suguru has been hired in the new Jurassic Park to help train Satoru, a young raptor created for the Japanese military. After a fight between dinosaurs causes a blackout, Suguru finds himself discovering how intelligent Satoru really is.

Because Mikey’s not paying attention to what’s in front of them, Leo sees it first through the thinning fog. He thinks it’s a tree trunk at a glance, tall and slender and curving oddly where it rises above the others. Then it moves, bending as if in a wind, and by the time it twists around to face the car, Leo realizes it’s not a tree at all.
“What,” he says, feeling entirely too small in the open-top Jeep.
Mikey, who went through a dinosaur phase that lasted the entirety of his pre-teen years, points at it and declares, “Sauropod!”
“Animatronic,” Leo says, “right?”
“Right,” Mikey parrots automatically. Then, more slowly, “I mean, it has to be. Right?”
“Right,” Leo agrees, but his heart isn’t in it.
The first Jeep has slowed to an abrupt stop, and theirs slows to a stop behind it. The dinosaur trumpets at them, like the elephants at Mikey’s zoo, and half a dozen other slender necks rise out of the mist at the call to peer in their direction.
