Summary

Just give me some time and we’ll keep each other updated.” She handed him a burner phone. “This has enough battery life for seventy two hours if we stick to texting. Don’t let Jon know you have it - he probably wouldn’t appreciate that we’re in cahoots.”

Gerry and Tim are professors by day and by night they're arsonists who burn Leitner books and anything remotely circus-themed
Sasha teaches R (statistics software) and is everyone's go-to tech person
Annabelle teaches drama and does a lot of things with puppets, who'd have thought?
Daisy and Basira are cops who are working in this town with all the break-ins and burning buildings and books. So strange.

Warning: Acephobia
Jonathan Sims angrily stalked through the streets of London, his father’s voice ringing in his head. “It’s simply not proper for a man of 30 not to have known the touch of another - go, get yourself down to the brothel and make a man out of yourself.” Jon didn’t want to - he was asexual (though the term itself didn’t exist back in the late 1800s). Sex was decidedly unappealing. Yet he couldn’t ignore a direct order from his father, not when he was so reliant on him for room and board, so he made his way along the slush-covered streets until he reached the brothel door. Then he steeled himself and knocked.
Or, Jon goes to a brothel and befriends Georgie and Martin who help him create the facade that he *totally* had sex while he was there. Martin has had a crush on him for a while and it becomes a full infatuation. Jon struggles with issues traumatizing people for their trauma so he can eat it and has been avoiding getting close to people for fear of hurting them but he likes Martin back. He and Henry Jekyll, both having their dreams thwarted by their unfortunate circumstances, have a chance encounter and Jon volunteers as Jekyll's lab rat.

Jon starts the Eye-Pocalypse and sinks into despairing catatonia, leaving Martin to care for him. When he does recover enough to be conscious of his surroundings, he continues falling apart and repeatedly tries to leave this mortal coil only to be always found and stopped by Martin. At some point Martin isn't there and he actually almost succeeds, only to have the Eye inform him of something that changes his mind.
