Summary
So, the general idea of this fanfic is that Chara never commits suicide and because of it they are still alive when the other humans come to the Underground.
They still hate humanity, but nevertheless aren't willing to commit suicide as they don't wish to leave their family behind, even if that selfishness means Monsters remain trapped in the Underground.
Then four years into their era the second of the eight humans arrives to the Underground, the one who arrived didn't trust Monsters and had in fact come to confirm whether the first human was dead, the fact that they weren't may be the only reason some peaceful resolution can be attained one day...unlikely, however.

The leader of the human province, and head mage, Cadoc, has no qualms in letting anyone willing to listen know that his third daughter—an unassuming girl with a deep blue Soul—has the most powerful magic known to mankind. So, I don't know how it happened, why it happened, or why I was given this complicated second chance but no matter what facts are I, somehow died and was reincarnated as Chara in Undertale.
Only now, instead of seeing the backstory as a cutscene im now living it.....
Well, there could've been worst places to have to end up calling home.
Only this time if I need to be the best child ever I will, but I will not be responsible for this family breaking up.

!!!!This story contains graphic descriptions of violence, body horror, and themes of grief, trauma, suicide, and manipulation aaaand a lot more. While it may seem fluffy at first, darker themes emerge as the story progresses. There are still plenty of warm, comforting moments, but I don’t want to mislead anyone expecting a purely lighthearted tale!!!!
Also, this is very slowburn — Chara’s and the MC’s relationship progresses slower than you might expect. If you find yourself feeling frustrated with how I write Chara early on, please know it’s intentional and part of the slow build. Thanks for giving it a chance! <3

Summary
After the war, monsters are trapped underneath the mountain. This was the story that was told above the ground for kids to stay away from the forest and the mountain all the way back in the English hills. Drake Jackson Conningway, a nine-year-old boy runs away from a orphanage that has abused him in the worst ways not even caring about the rumors and dangers of traversing the forest.
Slipping and falling from a hill, he ends in up in a vast and dark void unsure where he had ended up and how he got here. Drake slowly learns that this void is not what it seems and falls through the darkness to the realm below the mountain in another hole.
