But, that couldn’t really be said anymore about the boy. Because as soon as he was placed in that simulation, he was no longer ‘Average Naegi’. That semester he was in the simulation had changed the boy, not into someone else per say but it still changed him. The lasting trauma of the death games he was forced into ingraining itself into his mind.

Makoto sat up to protest, but could only watch as the tens upon dozens of stares looked down on him. Waiting. Expecting. Pinning him down to where sat in his lone desk in that conference room, as if trying to push his head down, and twist his arm into signing that paper.
It doesn't seem like they planned to give him much of a choice. He gulps.
"Can I— Can I at least... see her? First?"
Makoto doesn't know what else he could've said, but heads turn to one another in hushed whispers, and it seems like they oblige him. Makoto can hear his heartbeat in his head while he tries to think of something else to delay the inevitable.
