Summary
Solas had promised to soothe the Titans - but how could he soothe a creature driven mad, torn from itself? A creature that had never truly thought.
Yet that, like so many other assumptions he had made, proved to be wrong.
Atonement was not one decision, one sacrifice, but a choice made again and again to repair what had been broken by his hand, his decisions. Only the wise could realize that.

Summary
Spoiler warning: contains full Dragon Age lore!
Dark fantasy
This Book 1 speaks of guilt, faith, crushing responsibilities, and the first tremor of a love that does not yet understand the magnitude of what it will one day destroy. It is not rebellion yet; it is the dawn before the tragedy.
I am not trying to retell Dragon Age: Inquisition. The explosion of the Conclave is only the starting point that allows me to narrate another story: the intimate origin of a relationship that will change the world. I seek to enter the dark soul of Solas...
When I began writing this story during the pandemic, I too believed the tale Solas had sold us. But I came to understand it was only one version within a greater fiction. He was, after all, remembered as the god of Lies, Treachery and Rebellion, depending upon the story.
This book is the origin of the woman behind the myth, and of love before the fall. It is an elven tragedy, and all I want is to bare the wound.
"I'm begging for you to take my hand, wreck my plans...That's my man..."

Summary
“How could I refute the wisdom of the Dread Wolf?” she sneered. “You’ve survived, seen it all, and I am but an inconsequent rat to your greater scheme.”
“A rat can go places wolves and dragons cannot. So can spiteful seeds.” His lips set in thoughtful poise before mirroring her frown, “I am less interested in a title for this tale than those given to the characters—they call me the Dread Wolf, what will they call you when this is over?”

Summary
The night Solas told Cordelia Lavellan the truth about her vallaslin, he pushed her away. But in his rumination, he also made a choice. A different choice.
He chose to stay. He chose to tell her the truth, should they emerge victorious from the war on Corypheus.
He expects anger. He expects hurt. He might even expect (eventual) acceptance. But he does not expect a second chance with the woman he loves. No, he doesn't expect that at all.

Summary
This is a sort of retelling of the events of DAI with a focus on the Lavellan/Solas relationship. I aim to fill in some of the gaps, stuff that happened off screen, alluded at or mentioned. Or things I wish were shown. Example: by the time of Halamshiral, Solas casually touches Lavellan's back, both acting with a sense of familiarity. Implying, by then, their relationship has advanced to a place they are comfortable with casual touches. I want to explore these in between bits that got us there.
My story starts 3 weeks before the events of the Conclave and I intend to take it further after canon. (Post-Trespasser, possibly Veilguard) Canon Divergence will happen at some point. But I will do my best to keep canon compliant with most things until then. Even after, I will strive to be canon compliant with the lore, established characters and places. There will be a lot of Dalish and Elvhen stuff. And OC’s for Dalish clan members.
This will be in alternating POVs from Lavellan and Solas. Possibly others if necessary.

Summary
The Forgotten Ones weren't always... well, forgotten. The stories were likely partially true, the tales of cruelty and hiding in the darkness. They were everything they shouldn't have been - those who caused terror, pain, despair. The woman the world would eventually know as Inquisitor Lavellan was, in fact, a Forgotten One. Somehow Isathe was not imprisoned by the Dread Wolf in the abyss with the rest of them. Whatever the reason, the former spirit of Curiosity coaxed into physical form was stuck in the aftermath of that event. She felt the moment the Veil was created and pulled her even farther from her home. Then she slept. Slept for thousands of years until she woke in a world where elves were no longer what they had been. She had to find a way to stay alive and adjust to the world that formed from the Betrayal so long ago.
Isathe was an ancient elf, a member of the Forgotten Ones and awakened years before the Breach before being pulled into the Inquisition. Hiding herself from the prying eyes of those who would condemn her for her past, the wolf that haunts her dreams and the unsettling gaze of the apostate elf who appeared to know more than he let on.

Summary
The Hunter from Clan Lavellan is dismayed when he’s declared a savior, now trapped at the center of everyone’s attention with expectations nothing short of divine. Torn between the desire to do what is right and the true nature he tries to suppress, Inquisitor Lavellan finds comfort in the two least likely sources: the Tevinter mage who deceives him into believing he can be a better man, and the ex-templar who feeds the very darkness he fears will bring ruin.
The Inquisition is all that stands in defense of Thedas, and they’ve all sworn to the cause — but the paths to the Void are paved with good intentions.
And secrets always have a way of coming out.

Summary
In the beginning, there was a spirit. This spirit grew restless, and sought to form a corporeal body of its own. This spirit thought, and it became so. He became god-king, commander of the sun and of the darkness.
He proclaimed himself supreme divine. He amassed many disciples, and they worshipped him and made great offerings to him. He declared ownership of them, as he was their Father. The god-king demanded worship and prostration, even from his compeers.
Now, the Wolf was the most cautious and duplicitous within the dominion. He hunted within the borders of the god-king's court, pouring honeyed lies into the ears of the People.
However, there was another.
If you hear the call of the Morningstar, our Lord Elgar’nan demands you turn away, as her fickle song will only lead you towards death. This is a warning, and the story of the Wolf and the Serpent. -

“It is said Falon’Din’s appetite for adulation was so great, he began wars to amass more worshippers. The blood of those who wouldn’t bow low filled lakes as wide as oceans. Mythal rallied the gods once the shadow of Falon’Din’s hunger stretched across her own people. It was almost too late. Falon’Din only surrendered when his brethren bloodied him in his own temple.”
Or so Solas claimed, anyway.

Summary
Every story has a beginning, middle, and end - woven through time, the Dread Wolf shaped the world with his own. From it, a lot of guilt took shape along the way. But there is one elf who might never become part of those murals of regrets: Inquisitor Lavellan. The one who will save the world - either by saving him, or by killing him.
Or: what happens with Lavellan while Rook tries to stop Solas?
[I tried to stay as close to canon as possible, though I did take a few liberties to support the lore. This contains major spoilers for Inquisition and Veilguard, so read with caution! The Inquisitor is my Lavellan, which may differ from how you imagined your own.]

Rook’s gaze flicked back to the flowers, the carved stone, the hush that seemed to press in from the walls. “And now her name’s gone,” she said, quieter now. “Even to the Fade. Even to time.”
Her voice trembled, just slightly. “She loved a god. And he loved her. But no one even remembers her name.”
Lucanis was quiet for a moment. “He remembered.”
---
In the depths of Arlathan Forest, Rook and Lucanis uncover a forgotten shrine to Dirthamen. Not a cruel god’s grand, imposing temple, but something far more intimate.
Something quiet.
A place where even a god can be loved.
Some secrets are meant to be kept. Others, to be shared.

Summary
Her grasp on the language of the elvhen has been so fragile, in all the other instances he has known her to speak it. She has fumbled the shape of his people’s words time and again before—but this, she speaks with a deliberateness borne only of rigor. Conviction.
The words are equal parts condemnation, triumph, and lie—yet she whispers them as though they carry the sacred in their rhythm, like they are the song that stitches her together.
Under the Storm Coast nightly rains, held close in a tent, Solas is horrified to realize... she is real.

Cole: Look at all the stars. Their light is very far away. Some of them are gone.
