Summary
Weeks after the Android Revolution, with tensions between Androids and Humans tense, Hank and Connor are sent to investigate Android bodies that keep turning up.
Dealing with processing feelings, as well as whatever new role he is to play, Connor is eager to help.However with the way Deviants are dropping like flies they quickly realize that it's not an Android hating human behind the killings, it's another Android. Perplexed by this news Connor is all the more ready to find the culprit before tensions rise to high, or before a Human gets hurt.
Gavin Reed was not expecting to be dragged along to help, but after eyewitnesses point their fingers to Connor being behind the murders, he's paired with a disgruntled Hank to try and clear Connor's name, as well as find the actual killer.
They did not expect to find a machine not so unlike Connor behind it.Will this Deviant killing Machine be freed of his programming? Will they succeed in clearing Connor's name? Does Gavin even truly care?

Connor knew he wasn’t particularly good at things. He failed Amanda, failed Markus…and now he was failing at deviancy as well. Perhaps he was better off being a machine. Even Hank was bound to become fed up of him at some point. He expected it, but he hadn’t anticipated the pain that would accompany it. He supposed he deserved it.
His voice became louder, harsher, colder with every word. The more he spoke the more disoriented he got, and the more lost in memories of Cole- crash, hospital, androids, death- he became. Androids. androids causing problems in his life. Always ruining anything good he could possibly have in his life. How could he have forgotten? Looking at Connor now, seeing the yellow-red light spinning on his temple, he didn’t know how he ever saw a person in someone so obviously…synthetic. Mechanical. Always sat with an unnaturally straight posture, speaking like an awkward fucking thesaurus, never understanding jokes, expression never changing except for an uncomfortable, wonky smile that didn’t suit his face at all.

Not only that, but an assholish android who deems it necessary to not only question Gavin's professionalism but also invades his personal life. Ironically, the deviant may have a better grasp of living than Gavin Reed does.
What is there to say when you realize the machines you mistreated are no more a monster than you are?

The RK900 thought this would be a simple task. Prove his invaluableness to the precinct, solve cases, and move up as quickly as possible. Annoying his partner was just a treat on top of an already perfect plan. But Gavin Reed may be the one mystery Nines can't solve. Especially when it turns out that the detective and the android may have more in common than he initially thought.

It isn't entirely comfortable yet; there are still some kinks to work out, but the tension is gone. However, the situation comes to a head once more when a mysterious android emerges from the derelict suburbs of the city to perpetrate multiple terrorist attacks against humans and androids. The DPD have limited time to find out who the android is, who made it, and how to stop it. Alongside him is Connor, the first deviant android detective. Previously designed to assist in investigations of his own species, Connor has a calm demeanour and an analytical mind. Yet, this doesn't make up for the journey of being deviant; his lack of emotional understanding often puts him at odds with Gavin.
The two, paired together to investigate the case, must find the ability to work together.

Gavin Reed, proud owner of Reed's Coffee and winner of the World Barista Championship two years ago, hated matcha with all his being. So much so that he had a big poster in his café that read: FUCK MATCHA.
When Connor, newly returned from Japan after studying the art of authentic matcha and wagashi desserts, got triggered by the poster, he opened a matcha shop right across the street.
