Summary
It's been nine months since androids earned their freedom through their peaceful and non violent revolution.
But now a new deadly threat has taken over Detroit. "Von Rothbart" the serial killer.
Named for the trademark left on his victims. Neither human or android is safe. Detective Gavin Reed is initally tasked alone to stop him. As the body count grows and with no evidence to guide him, Connor is brought back to the DPD to join Reed on the case.
During their investigation, Gavin struggles to cope with his conflicted feelings for his new deviant partner, while also battling the demons of his past. -

Gavin Reed, proud owner of Reed's Coffee and winner of the World Barista Championship two years ago, hated matcha with all his being. So much so that he had a big poster in his café that read: FUCK MATCHA.
When Connor, newly returned from Japan after studying the art of authentic matcha and wagashi desserts, got triggered by the poster, he opened a matcha shop right across the street.
A tense encounter turned into a challenge, and the challenge turned into prank wars.
But when the pranks took a serious turn and someone got injured, they had to put their prejudice aside and work together.

The man was facing Connor now. "No." Connor whispered. His eyes were wide, he was struggling to breathe. "I was the last of my line."
The man laughed, harsh and terrifying. "Oh, deviants," He started, "Always so naive. How could you forget that?" Gavin inched forward silently. He could nearly strike the man.
"Why are you doing this?" Connor screamed at the man. "Why are you killing innocent people?"
"Why do you think, Detective?" He snarled, the word laced with contempt. "I killed because I knew you'd come right to me."

Hank thought maybe it was just another abused android looking for a shelter. Until he showed the coin.Or: Connor isn't doing well after the revolution. After being shot by Hank in the bridge and nearly shooting Markus in the speech. There wasn't much for him outside. But maybe, there's still an opportunity for him to enjoy being alive.

I'm really curious about the concept of hostile Hank and deviant Connor who was killed after. It's not much explored, and if it is, the conflict is a bit too easy to fix for my taste.
