Summary
If one asked Alastor about his job, the intermediate answer could come as off-putting and surprising, considering how diligent he usually was when I came to what he did for a living, but one can hate the job and still be good at it. Being a social worker was no specially exciting, contrary to popular beliefs, even (and perhaps specially) when one works with magical youth, despite the vast amount of things he had seen over the years, and the utter wonders the kids were capable of doing, his actual job was tedious and boring, and if one considers the extra fact that it had never been what Alastor had wanted to do with his life in the first place, it came as no surprise that he hated it.
Perhaps, all he ever needed was a change in perspective, and a reason to dream again.
