Mistakes and choices were made in the past and future, and now there are Four Warriors of Light who could all easily take center stage and be the hero. However, one does appear to shine brighter than the others, perhaps that's whom the story is meant for?
Even then, having FOUR Warriors of Light can't be a bad thing, right? The established timeline won't change that much...

Summary
Jacke Swallow is an upright thief; a purveyor of information and keeper of the peace. As master of the Rogue's Guild, to keep the streets free of trouble was his pride. However, under the guidance of Admiral Bloefhiswyn, sometimes the streets extended farther than normal. And when they did, spotting trouble ahead of time, and seeing if buds needed nipping, became the name of the game. However, this glimpse into Jacke's journal recounts the exploits of one such bud which would grow into something beyond anything he could have imagined.
|This is meant to act as a simple summary of the events of Final Fantasy XIV, up to Dawntrail, as I think they would be view from the perspective of Jacke Swallow. I think that despite his lackadaisical nature, Jacke takes the safety of the people around him too seriously to not keep a close eye on particularly special peoples of interest like the Warrior of Light, regardless of whatever personal relationship they might hold or end up holding.|

Summary
J'asper has been completing missions with the Rogues' Guild for nearly four moons now, and while he prides himself in learning and recalling many details about all the people he's worked with; one person remains who he hasn't even learned the name of. That blonde Miqo'te who always seems to be sitting towards the front, playing with his blade as though a compulsory behavior.
Finally, the curiosity takes hold and he asks Jacke about the man, only to be deprived information and left with a warning - first from Jacke and then the man himself... "Don't ask questions."
Even though J'asper takes the warning/threat to heart, the man seems not to believe he's experienced the last of J'asper's curiosity... he decides to get to the bottom of the matter in questionable ways.

Short stories about my miqo'te Warrior of Light Tovi's early years in Limsa Lominsa before becoming the Hydaelyn's Chosen, written for the FFXIV Write 2024 September event. Best friends with Jacke Swallow of the Rogue questline fame, Tovi grew up among circus people and thieves and secretly dreamed of traveling the world again like he did with his mother as a little boy.
Will contain some thirsty bits, but so far none of the fills contain actual smut.

He now must rebuild the Scions of the Seventh Dawn, as well as protect the city that has taken him in as one of their own. But Warrior of Light or no, there are some battles that even he can't win.
Picking up where "After the Fallen Meteor" ended, this is the Heavensward arc of Lysander's journey, and I'm ridiculously excited to continue telling his story. ...And also to continue treating the game as my own personal dating simulator...

I have been sitting on this little chapter story for quite some time, plugging away at it, and I thought the novel pairing was the perfect time to finally start posting! Jacke speaks in heavy thieves' cant in this, and Riol has subtle phrases here and there. I adore the idea of this pairing, and yes, this one is written as a reader insert.
