"... Fair enough." Karl took one final drag from his cigar before flicking it to the ground and snuffing out the flame under his boot. He smirked. "You wanna know if I bite?"

Tucked deeply away in the mountains of Romania is a small village. Rarely are new inhabitants allowed and never is anyone allowed to leave. The Rémy family only allowed to settle in the village because of a distant relation to the eldritch lord. Colette knows this. Colette resents this. Known as a troublemaker and an outcast, she attracts the unwanted attention of the Mother and her lords.
No one leaves, that is the rule. Colette is going to break that rule.
Edit: As of 5-11-25, this story has been updated in all of its 10 chapters. I have lengthened this by 20 pages in my Google Doc. I was surprised.

Basically, Reader is a hunter and childhood friend of Elena. They were just beginning their relationship when one day Elena is summoned to work at the castle as a maid. Reader survives the attack on the village and vows to break into the castle to rescue their girlfriend from the jaws of death.
