Yet the world has begun to change. Division, unrest, and a growing coldness spread with no clear cause, until Jack learns the truth: the Spirit of Love, Cupid, has been missing for over a century. To undo the damage, Jack and North set out to find her. Instead of the love-struck spirit he imagined, Jack finds a bitter recluse who agrees to help only if she can return to solitude once Strife—the Spirit of Anger and her natural opposite—is defeated. As Strife prepares for war, Cupid joins the Guardians one last time. Privately, North gives Jack a task: keep her happy. As he grows closer to her, affection comes easily for him, but painfully slow for her. She insists she’ll leave when it’s over, and Jack begins to realize how deeply immortality, loss, and love have scarred her.

All of the tests they had gone through showed that she was four weeks along. She clutched her stomach, despite knowing she was nowhere close to showing and most likely wouldn’t for another couple of months. But it was just so surreal. She was going to be a mother.

The platinum-blonde didn’t completely know what to do with the information. There was no doubt in her mind that she’d keep the baby, regardless of who their father was, but it still felt scary. She didn’t even want to think of how her husband was going to take the news. If he did, who knew what he’d do to her or how he’d react. Both of them knew it wasn’t his. The town could think what it wanted to, but they would know the truth. Her friends would know the truth. Yet, that wasn’t her biggest concern, regardless of what her husband might demand or pressure. Rather, she didn’t know how she’d be able to raise her child all by herself.

He knows there's a lake, but there are no photos, no maps to where this lake is. Hiccup knows it exists, because the other residences know about it too, but whenever he asks for details they seem to know nothing, baring a few exceptions, and Hiccup can't help but feel like he's going insane.
All of this, somehow, leads to him giving Jack Frost a four hour car ride. Jack, who's the center of all of this in one way or another.
