"You are the most important thing to me, Will," Mike had said softly, his sad eyes darting across Will's features. "Everything I have ever done and anything I ever will do is all for you, for us. Anything else? Fucking confetti."
Mike and Will had done a dirty thing for dirty money. Now they had been debased to fighting, feeding, and fucking to survive. Mike and Will would stalk the night, trying to look appealing enough that any rich onlooker might take a bite. They were the people who roamed the gritty streets looking for a lucky break. The ones Will often watched from his living room window.
New York City. The land of opportunity… and broken dreams.
They were among the rats now.
Logline: Days away from eviction and desperate for cash, Mike and Will make a painful, hopeless decision. They fall apart, piece each other together again, and find that hope burns like a little sun.

Mike and Will kept in contact following S5 E8: “The Rightside Up.” They call a lot, write to each other, and every now and then there’s a group meetup with the party back in Hawkins. This time, Mike decides he’s gonna pay Will a visit in New York City
At the same time, Will and Carlton have just ended their relationship on good terms. They decide to go out to the bar (as friends) the same time that Mike lands in NYC to go visit. Their paths cross, and Mike realizes something he should have realized a long time ago.

Will frowns and pads down the hall, the haze of sleep slipping the idea of maybe putting a shirt on before he answers the door to god-knows-who from his mind, and twists the slightly-loose fake gold doorknob to open to the outside of the apartment.
Any lingering tendrils of sleep shoot from his body as he meets eyes with his unannounced visitor.
There in front of him, pink-cheeked from the brisk early morning, face as shifty as the day he last saw it 7 years ago, is Mike Wheeler.

Summary
Will always knew how he felt about Mike, but it wasn’t until he left Hawkins and moved to a small town just outside London that he finally felt free. Once he was out of that old “prison,” he moved on pretty quickly and even started seeing a cute British boy named Carlton. Life was lighter, easier.
Mike, on the other hand, wasn’t so lucky. He stayed in Hawkins, living alone in his apartment and pouring himself into writing. His books were successful, but they were mostly a way to distract himself from real life—and he still thought about Will all the time. His most popular book, If I Had Loved You Better, was basically everything he wished he could have said or done with Will.
One day, Will picks up the book and it hits too close to home. The words, the feelings… it all feels way too familiar.Before he knows it, he’s sending Mike an email, asking him to come stay for a week.

Summary
After the last Battle and Hawkins is safe, everyone lives their life back. Despite all the trauma they went through they still have each other to aid the painful memories, however Mike went through it differently than the others. His last memory about Eleven haunted him with guilt and despair. Hopper has tried to talk over with him, but it's easier said than done. As the others find their own path -Mike tries to ease his pain by writing a book about his journey, but he drowns further into his depression. Will is being asked by Nancy to help them out in bringing Mike senses back. The Byers brothers back to Hawkins and spend their time in Wheelers like the old time.
or Mike is making a novel to be the memoir of their journey, but getting more depressed. He was soothed by Will and he encouraged him to start his own journey (with him) outside Hawkins.
