"Finally done with your scene, huh?" Jared asks in a voice that conveys friendliness about as well as a snake spitting venom through a tank glass.
Jensen nods awkwardly, and his swallow gets stuck on the way down his throat. He doesn't know what to say, so he doesn't do or say anything at all, just stands there like an idiot, his phone still out but the screen's gone dark, with rain trickling down his chest and the thighs of his jeans. Instinctively, he matches up Jared with his eyes; taller, thicker, stronger. There's nothing he can say or do to tell him to go away.
"I was thinking," the man speaks with a smile on his face, a smile that Jensen wishes the pale lighting cast from the studio building would at least try to shroud, but he can't get away from it, "why haven't we ever tried to bond? So - why not come over tonight and start?"

Uses a first-person narrator with a strong personality and a rather hilarious bias against us primitive Earthlings. That he seems to come from an AU Star Wars setting, is irrelevant. Nonetheless, analyses banthas, dewbacks, and Krayts, with interesting theories about the anatomy of each. WELL worth reading.

Predators play an important role in structuring ecosystems, with predator population declines being linked to a variety of negative ecological effects. Here, we present evidence that the planet Tatooine, famous throughout the Galaxy for being a desert planet, experienced desertification as a result of unintended changes in herbivore populations caused by the intentional large-scale killing of apex predators by offworld colonists. Fossil evidence and interviews showing traditional ecological knowledge suggest that once-abundant Krayt dragons were hunted to near extinction by early human colonists. As a result of the decline in predation, populations of large herbivorous banthas populations grew out of control and overgrazed the plants once found throughout Tatooine.

I’ve wanted to do this for a while now.
In essence, for the last 5 or so years, Tatooine’s binary star system has come up as a talking point in one of my climate change science classes (yes, I’m a Star Wars fan). Basically, I use it to showcase an over-the-top example of radiative forcing. If you’re not familiar with this term, it’s basically a metric used to calculate net energetics in climate systems (expressed in Watts per square metre). For example, you can use it to measure how our pesky greenhouse gases contribute a positive radiative forcing by keeping heat energy within the Earth’s atmosphere; or how having an extra star would also definitely result in a significant positive RF effect.
Anyway, I guess in the back of my mind, I always thought it would be kind of fun to produce a comprehensive mock Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report, with a focus on our favourite desert planet Tatooine. Here, I would essentially use the exact IPCC text, but with some minor changes as well as modifying some of the figures so that they identify better with the Star Wars universe...- Bookmarks:

[ Mockumentary!AU fic ] Except Jared just can’t understand why Jensen isn’t off-the-charts, truly, madly, deeply in love with him. He’s pretty used to merely looking at people and having them swoon all over the place. Not Jensen. Not only is Jensen apparently immune to the sex-power-stare of Jared Padalecki, he’s never around to witness it. Every time the director yells That’s a wrap! Jared turns to say, ask Jensen out for something casual like coffee at his place – or sex on the coffee table at his place - poof! Jensen’s gone before he can even get a word out.
