Firefly AU. To keep herself safe River decides she needs to be married. To both Mal and Jayne.
Because of the way River communicates this wasn't easy to get into at first. However, it clicked after about 3 chapters & it would be terrific to see it completed. As at Feb '26, there are 23 chapters with no update for several years. Years in which a lot of bad things have happened to people. It hasn't paused at a *bad* place, but still, fingers firmly crossed for more as well as for the author's wellbeing.

Guide Anthony DiNozzo thinks he's had his shot at bonding. He's met "his" sentinel and, for reasons that he doesn't want to talk about, he turned him down. That should be it. After all, if a person doesn't bond with their perfect match, they don't get another chance, right? Tony's former sentinel won't so much as consider bonding with another guide, even to treat his terminal illness.
Leave it to Tony to break all the rules and in doing so, end up in the middle of a goddamned space opera, complete with politics, aliens, and his very own Space Force general.
Okay, so technically, Major General Jonathan "Jack" O'Neill is Air Force, but by the time Tony is done, who knows, there may well be a sixth branch of the military. And who better to lead it than a guy who's saved Earth a few dozen times?

This Space Opera series, AthenaAstrea
Terrific series set in an S&G world. Fascinating world building around social mores (sex is very much not a taboo thing) and some great Stargate style intrigue and action. Minimal angst (at least so far). Mainly an NCIS/Stargate crossover (set in a Sentinel world of course) but recruits freely from other fandoms too.
NB This is the one with the quest style spirit plane bonding!
