Summary
You grew up in the town next to it.
These days, your family is split up, cloyed together in small bundles all over. Some tied together by some name, but it is thinning. Fading. You know they never left Maine, wherever they are. Alive, your grandparents lived on the outskirts of it, and when you visited in the summers, you would take the MBTA bus line into it. Everyone you knew went to the lake in the summer, went to the record store, the cafes, the theater. Your grandparents might be at its cemetery.
You don’t live in Maine anymore, years of distance between you and it. Mail comes anyway, and the sender puts you off kilter; your sister left when you were nine, yet.
But it is the return address that makes you nauseous. Because every once in a while, you still dream about it, that town.

Summary
Mary always had a desire to return to Silent Hill, to the one place she grew to love during her vacation there alongside her beloved husband.
Sadly, that much desired dream ended up on ice due to a series of unfortunate circumstances following their return from the town, culminating in her ending up terminally ill and on the cusp of death.
Against those odds, the woman somehow manages to recover from such an ordeal. However, this return to a healthier state coincides with James going missing. Then, one day, Mary receives a letter from him which motivates her to return to Silent Hill.
It is during this journey to try and find James where Mary not only learns about the town’s true nature and its secrets, but also uncovers a truth about herself she may have not been fully honest about.

Silent Hill was a place short of anything special to you. It’s a small town off the coast of Maine with outdated shops and even more outdated tourist attractions. For some reason, it was quite the hot spot for honeymooners all over. Not that you would know anything past that.
You stumbled upon this town via a run-down flyer that landed on your doorstep. Just 2 weeks after you received your initial eviction notice from your apartment. Divine intervention, some priest would claim it to be. It was good though. You needed to get away from this town that haunts you and be somewhere new. Be somebody new.
So that’s where you set forth. To check out this special place called Silent Hill.
