Summary
Damage has been done. Serious damage. Physical, emotional, psychological. The unholy trinity of pain.
Ed has a great deal of healing to do. Physical, emotional, psychological. And, as much as he hates to admit it, he just can’t do that without at least some contact with the cause of it all: Stede fucking Bonnet.
As Ed’s scars slowly knit back together, and Stede gets the chance to darn the gaping holes he tore in Ed’s soul, the threads of their lives begin to weave into a skein of something new. Something potentially very fine.
And, who knows?
Maybe this time they’ll both be lucky. Maybe this time Stede will stay.
OR
A modern AU exploration of the post-Kraken era.

Summary
There was probably something to be said about how many of Ed’s most prominent tattoos were of things he was absolutely terrified of. The giant snake on his arm, for example. Or the not one, not two, but three enormous spiders on both feet and his left hand, that instead of desensitizing him, had just led to him religiously wearing his black leather glove...
So he couldn’t even really blame the choice of a kraken on drunk stupidity alone. Though that night’s events were all a bit of a blur and he wasn’t even entirely certain that he had even been the one to make the call.For years, Edward Teach had been hiding safely in Blackbeard’s shadow. But the only thing scarier than being seen clearly might be not being seen at all.
He’d long ago written off being recognized and held unconditionally and without judgment as a childish dream—until he discovered that some dreams might be far more real than they should be.

Summary
The thing was, right, that "could be" in a hypothetical sense was different than "could be" in real life. Hypothetically, sure: Izzy had one set of bits, Ed and Stede had another. Sometimes, hypothetically, you put those bits together and, given time to cook, the end result was a tiny little squalling human. But hypothetically was different than real life, because Ed and Iz had been fucking since they found out what fucking was. In all that time they’d never, not once, ended up with a baby.
I hate the "unplanned pregnancy heals the relationship" trope. This fic is about that.

Summary
Ed looks down at himself. He’s dressed in soft clothes. He recognizes Stede’s breeches and linen shirt from the first day. White stockings and no shoes. The black cravat is tied loosely around his neck.
“Edward.”
Ed looks up. It’s Stede, standing not far from the bed nook, wearing one of his fancy teal suits and smiling softly, his eyes sparkling in the low light of the lamps.
Ed wants to scream. He wants to throw up. Or hide. He wants to stab Stede in the guts.
He doesn’t do any of that. Instead, he rushes into Stede’s arms, which wrap around him tightly. He buries his face in Stede’s shoulder as he kisses the top of Ed’s head.
“I missed you,” Ed says.
“I missed you, too. I’m here now. Shh, I’m here.
It’s a dream. No way in hell this is real. But Ed doesn’t care.
~~~~~
During his Kraken Era, Ed finds a magic ring that shows him visions of Stede. As the days pass and his sadness grows, Ed tries to figure out how he can make the visions permanent.
One way or another, Ed can't live like this anymore.
Summary
“Excuse me, ma’am?” I asked softly. She looked up at me and smiled like she knew me.”Have you seen a tall man, long dark hair… Probably looks a bit tired, on the thinner side? Hard to miss him.” I explained, realizing I should have brought a photo of him- would have made my life easier.
"Oh! That's that Crane boy, he's the Pastor at the church!" she lit up, propping herself up on the handle of her broom.
"Pastor?" I asked In disbelief.
"Yes sir!" She smiled at me, the wrinkles on her face deepening. "I tell you that boy can really put the fear of God in you... Lord knows this town needs that." she rolls her eyes.
"Oh I believe that..."
Summary
He doesn't expect to be pulled into the room like it's easy, to find himself pressed against the wall with surprising force. He doesn't resist when Stede brings their mouths together. That man's been known to kill any self-preserving instinct Ed has.
Maybe one day, he'll kill Ed for good.
"You shouldn't've done that", Ed says against his lips when they part, and he can't be sure if he means the kiss or the kill.
The thrilling devastation of Stede's lips on his, the cruel satisfaction of his sword piercing a body. It all feels like one and the same these days.
"Maybe not", Stede says. "But I wasn't gonna let him talk to you like that. No one gets to talk about you like that."
~oOo~oOo~oOo~
Or, the night of Calypso's Birthday after Stede kills his first man, Ed finds himself dragged into his cabin, forced to open up and finally take care of some long festering wounds of their past.
