He hadn’t seen Carlo for about a month. He wasn’t attending lessons, training sessions. Romeo wasn’t allowed to enter his father's home. He was hospitalised, he says now. Spent a couple weeks in nauseatingly sterile rooms, barely conscious on pain killers, his arm gone. Not giving signs of life. He is here now; Romeo reminds himself. Changed, tired, holding a hand of a child Romeo never saw in his life. He says it's his brother. One he either forgot to mention or was too painful to acknowledge. Weak blood, had to send the kid away to hopefully gain some strength. Romeo believes that. Maybe he shouldn’t, blinded like so many. Too focused on the flowers to see the thorns. Maybe the scent is buried too deep, maybe the thorns already infect his bones. He doesn’t mind anyway

Instead of sending Ex to the Void, the Hermits push him into the End- which, already raided, egg taken, and dragon slayed, is empty until they revive the dragon, believing that death would be kinder than being banished in the Void. They're a glitch, so they only have one life. Reviving the dragon, they teleport themselves out. However, a dragon's main instinct is to protect their young- so, when the dragon doesn't find an egg, it makes a bond with the closest living thing other than the enderman: Ex. Cue Ex finally getting a break and love for once in their life, dragon rides, and befuddled Hermits wondering how Ex managed to befriend a dragon and why it was treating him like an unruly child (bonus if the Hermits, after a while without a death message, open the portal again to check what's happening, and barely see Ex upon the dragon before they both vanish into the Overworld).
