Hatake Kakashi was no more. Amidst the intense fight to seal Otsutsuki Kaguya in the Fourth Shinobi War, he was hit by her absolutely devastating power, the All-Killing Ash Bones. The bone which was infused with chakra from the Ten-Tails, penetrated his body and ultimately caused his death.
Somehow, the Sixth Path chakra within Kakashi intercepted his journey to the afterlife and had his soul spiraled into an alternate universe where everything was out of place. There, he was Uchiha Kakashi, the youngest son of Uchiha Fugaku.
Kakashi lived a pretty quiet life (despite having angry Sasuke as a brother) until a certain stranger showed up and disturbed his peace.

Obito, Rin and Kakashi are all bound together as mates, so they try harder but it changes very little- Obito still gets crushed and Rin still impales herself on chidori but they both live despite it and realised a fundamental truth- this world is hell. So to build a better world where all can live happily they abandon the naïve children they once were and all dreams and morals they once had. It will all be worth it when they create the new world they can be with Kakashi and make it so he never suffered but that's still years away so they watch over him but when they run into him on a mission they need to intervene- this was cruel even for this hell.
Kakashi had lost nearly everyone he had ever loved but when his adoptive parents died leaving behind a baby Kakashi knew he'd protect him with everything he had- sacrifice whatever necessary to ensure his happiness and he did- he gave his mind, body and soul to the village until one mission goes unexpected and leaves him bonded to two mysterious alphas who love to threaten his village to "ensure his safety" constantly, forcing him to be discharged from the ANBU.

The mission that kills Dan hasn’t happened yet and Orochimaru hasn’t started working with Danzo. (Everyone lives, no one dies, because I'm the author with supreme power and can do what I want)

“Uchiha-san, then.” Rui started walking towards their destination, guiding their little group towards their destination. Shisui walked beside Rui and the two of them led the group, with Sakura and Sasuke walking behind them, and Itachi at the very back. Already Rui could hear Sakura introducing herself to Sasuke and immediately asking about various things, mainly about being a shinobi. Poor boy, Rui just hopes that he doesn’t get overwhelmed.
“There are so many of us,” Shisui sighed good-naturedly, “If you called me that all three of us would turn our heads, and then some. Just call me Shisui. The little guy’s Sasuke, and the one who wants dango is Itachi.”
“Alright then, Shisui-san.” Rui said with a laugh, “My name is Haruno Rui. But you can just call me Rui. My little cousin’s name is Sakura.”
“Cousin?”
“Yeah. Though, people mistake us as sisters all the time. Since we look similar and all.” Rui said, her black hair a stark difference to Sakura's pink. “You agree, right?”
Shisui snorted.

There, before him, was his younger self, staring up at him with those innocent onyx eyes.
