That much was true, although the worst part was that it made her father right, she really was a useless, stupid girl that would never amount to anything. Except, that wasn’t true either. She had amounted to something; a cautionary tale, a tragedy, a massive mistake, and that was all she’d ever get to be. The alley began to fade from her vision, the rats and grime fading into darkness, numbness overtaking her body from her chest and out towards her limbs.

Thus begins Stephanie's slow journey of healing, of recovery, of confronting her trauma and despair, and of finding out who she is in the ruins of it all. Trying to rebuild her relationships and reconnect with the people she loves.
And as those loved ones face their own struggles--from sudden deaths to mysterious returns-- Stephanie being around changes things quite a bit...

As she'd expected, Tim immediately tensed up. “No, it’s not that.”
But it was something about her. She could read that all over Tim's face.
"But...I don't understand why he didn't even tell me." He crossed his arms and flashed a dark look at her. "Why YOU didn’t.”
“There... were a lot of reasons,” Steph murmured. She'd spent so much time trying to sort out all of them for this very moment, but suddenly it was all jumbled up in her mind again.

OR
Cass moves to Blüdhaven to escape Steph's ghost and somehow adopts a depressed acrobat. Dick's life just fell apart but he's still out here teaching basic life skills and that your entire personality can't just be "fights crime." Unsurprisingly, this doesn't stop either of them from being absolute disasters.
