Staying at the Wheeler's house wasn't really what Will had in mind when his mom came to him and told him that with everything that is happening, it would be better to stay in Hawkins and not in Lenora. No, Will thought that she would rent a house or maybe even stay at Hopper's cabin but no, their only option was the Wheeler's.
And he doesn't complain, Mrs.Wheeler treats them like family. The food is good, they have beds to sleep, everyone's happy. Jonathan is beacuse he gets to be with Nancy every single night, Joyce too because she uses this excuse to sleep at Hopper's cabin and just checks if everything's right any time and then, but Will... he is happy, okay ? It's just that it's now way more complicated for him to put back every tiny pieces of his feelings for a certain brunette boy with puppy eyes.

When Will cannot sleep in the basement because Holly needs it more than anything else in her patheticly little life - as she says, what is he gonna do ?

“Secret?” A slight bemused smile covered Nancy’s face as she furrowed her brows and tilted her head, her eyes still on the path.
“To getting everyone to fall in love with you.” Robin is now ahead of her walking backwards, her back facing the road ahead and meeting her eyes with a teasing glint.
“Wait— what is that supposed to mean?” Bewildered, Nancy looks up as heat rises on her cheeks. By the time she asked the question, Robin had already caught up to Steve and Jonathan. “Robin?... ROBIN?!”

"I think I should start coming with you to gay clubs. I mean I've been thinking about experimenting" Nancy laughs, "Boys are kinda grossing me out" she shudders.
Robin's eyes widened in realization of what her friend just said. "E-Experimenting? What do you mean?" She asks stunned "With girls?!".
Nancy thinks kissing a girl will help her clarify her feels.

“This is weird, right?” Steve abruptly rises from Jonathan’s frumpy bed, lifting the turntable’s needle, cutting the crunching static off.
Jonathan shifts to rest on his elbows. Narrowing his eyes as if the even the dim glow of his room was too much light. Maybe it was because he was high as shit, “Wha..? What’s weird?” He mumbles, rubbing at his bloodshot eyes.
“This.” Steve gestured between them, almost exasperated, waving back and forth, “Us. Me and you. Hanging out, or whatever the fuck you call this.”—
Set at the beginning of season 4. In the aftermath of season 3, Nancy and Jonathan have a mutual break up. Steve and Jonathan manage to become friends in the process. Steve visits Jonathan during spring break expecting a break after what went down in Hawkins. They never would’ve guessed that the very thing that destroyed them would return one last time.

My first fic, I’ve been on the Stonathan train since season 1 and it’s so surreal that we won bro so I made a fic to celebrate but also to mourn the loss of Jane and that absolutely terrible ending filled with plot holes.

Unsurprisingly, being at Hawkins High just deepens that feeling that you don't belong. Except for that one metalhead who makes you laugh like no one else can. You fall hard and fast for Eddie Munson and his theatrics, and he treats you like royalty. Some days you could swear he likes you back, but he's never made a move on you.

The man- now unmistakably Eddie Munson- opened his mouth as if to say something, choosing to instead launch himself at Steve. There was a second where Steve thought he was being attacked, knocked off kilter, but then Eddie’s arms were around him, burying his face in Steve’s hair. Half-collapsing beneath the weight, Steve guided them both to the floor, pulling Eddie closer instinctively. He felt thinner than he used to, the skin of his back littered with scars.
“Eddie,” Steve murmured disbelievingly, holding him as he shook like a leaf in Steve’s arms. “You’re not dead.”
Eddie laughed, despite the trembling. He clutched onto Steve’s shirt like a lifeline.
“Yeah,” he managed, voice high and vulnerable. “Sorry to disappoint.”

Summary
Michael Wheeler had a nasty tendency of hiding things in neat, tiny, dismissable boxes, the swallowing the key and shitting off a volcano, "just in case". He's been doing it since 1983. That is a lot of shits into volcanoes.
The year is 1995. Mike is trying to survive as a writer, using the pen name Sam Hill. He'd released a book about WW2, and it had hit the charts like a hammer, for good reason. However, Sam Hill had writers block.
He's been drinking. Staring out windows, seeing faces in clouds. Will's face.
Dustin Henderson landed it at NASA, and his team undug some revelations on Pluto. Something about the craters. So, he decided to celebrate, seeing it as a wonderful time to get the gang together. Everyone is coming. Everyone has to share a room. And Will and Mike have to share one.
William Byers is not ok. Gods, no.
He'd tried to move on. Tried forgetting Mike. Tried a new relationship, and the guy had been a shit.
Will illustrated books, drew newspaper comics, and tried to keep his shit together. But Dustin's get together may be the end of him. He doesn't want anyone to worry about him, and he was put in the same room as the perceptive Michael Wheeler.
They were dead men. -

They poured the liquid into two red solo cups with a wooden ladle, sipping off them almost immediately.
Will's face was a mix of satisfaction and disgust, He laughed before speaking.“I can't decide if I like it or not!”
Mike laughed. “Me either!”
They continued to sip the cold liquid, leaving their lips rosy and glossy.
They tumbled over each other when walking through the crowd, tugging at each other's shirts for support.
They refilled their cups, the red punch splattering out as they wobbled past the crowd.They walked up stairs, laughing over each other's facial expressions and tumbles.
They walked into a brightly lit bathroom.
“Augh!” Mike groaned and covered his eyes, shaking his cup and making it splatter out.
Will burst out laughing, covering his mouth and drawing tears to his eyes.
They set their cups on the counter next to the sink, still laughing for no clear reason.
Will dropped his head on the counter “God, we—we’re so drunk” Will said, slurring his words together.
Mike huffed. “Mhm” He said with a laugh. “Already.”
