He had learned of Herman Carter, who was nicknamed The Doctor by the survivors. He was gifted one favor for being a good pet for The Entity. A submarine with 100 people to experiment on. Just like that, a killer taken by the fog had what he wanted.
If he follows it's orders for now, he can get what he needs to break free. Maybe, just maybe, he can develop something to kill The Entity. An organism capable of killing a false god.
