Summary
George finally made his move, bringing the knife that Dream had known that he had at his fingertips this whole time up and aiming for Dream’s chest. Dream, reacting almost immediately since he had known this was coming, grabbed his wrist and forced his swing to go wide. He bent his wrist away from him, but not enough to risk breaking it. “Who do you work for?” Dream asked, managing to keep his voice remarkably casual given the position they were in. Good. It had been awhile; nice to see that he hadn’t lost his touch.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” George tried to wiggle his wrist out of Dream’s grasp but he just tightened his fingers, feeling the delicate bones of the hunter’s wrist moving under his skin. He had been right; George was clearly experienced but when it came down to it, he just didn’t have the strength to take Dream down.

Dream's a vampire living a mostly peaceful life in Virginia until he messes up, gets caught, and ends up with a vampire hunter on his tail. George is an infamous vampire hunter but gets thrown off when he accidentally ends up sort of friends with the person he's supposed to be killing.

He laughs, staring at the vampire’s red eyes which were now starting to glow from the blood. “So, finally come to kill me ‘eh Blade?” he sneers, “I should have known you were all the same.” he chuckles again, nearing hysterical.
Tommy could shoot him; could reach into his pocket and grab his gun out, but instead he doesn’t. A part of him feels faint and shaky from the sluggishly bleeding wound on his side that he tries to cover with his hand.
Another part of him has given up.
He watches as the vampire slowly walks up to him and Tommy closes his eyes. He expects a hand to hold him in a harsh grip, claws tearing into his skin.
He doesn’t except a handkerchief pressed against his wound, Techno looking at him with an unnatural amount of concern.

After losing his parents and later his brother to the same vampire, Tommy hides in the small city of L'manburg, waiting for the chance to avenge them. What Tommy doesn't except is for a coven of two vampires to figure out his plan and offer to help him.
Maybe he could gain something more from this alliance?

The same hand that had fed him and given him shelter, as involuntary as it had been, was gently placed at the back of his skull. Techno’s thumb pulling across the golden earring that now felt like an anchor dragging him below the surface of a pool of magma.
Wearing Techno’s face, the Blood God grinned at him.

For a second, he revels in how he can’t feel much of anything besides cold cold cold. He wriggles his toes and they’re too numb and frozen to feel his socks, shoes, or the floor under them. But then he shifts his head over, trying to somehow alleviate the growing pressure behind his right eye, and his whole world spins as his body jerks forward.
Next, he realizes the room he’s in is pitch black. And he is definitely tied up to a chair, not sleeping in his bed.
